History

JSC Angarsk Petrochemical Company was acquired by Rosneft in May 2007. The construction of Industrial Complex 16 began on the basis of the Resolution of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR dated September 14 1945. The first petrochemical units of vapor-hydrogenation processes were put into operation in 1953, the first products, methanol and sulfuric acid, was obtained in 1954. In 1957, the plant was redesigned from using coal to oil raw materials. On the main indicators of oil refining, it is among the top ten enterprises in Russia. The enterprise is one of the largest refineries in Russia and plays an important role in oil products supply to Siberia and the Far East.

The designed capacity of the refinery is 10.2 million tons of oil per year. The company processes West Siberian crude oil supplied through the trunk pipeline system. Secondary processing capacities of the enterprise include catalytic reforming, isomerization, MTBE production, diesel fuel hydrotreatment, catalytic cracking, coking, bitumen plant. The structure of APCC includes oil production, as well as the capacity for petrochemical production - sulfuric acid, methanol, butyl alcohols, amines, ammonia.

The company produces more than 200 items of products, including liquefied gases, motor gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, various grades of bitumen, coke and oils, and chemical products.

Shipments of products are mainly made by rail, pipeline and road transport.

APCC supplies up to 0.6 million tons of straight-run gasoline annually as a raw material for the pyrolysis unit of the Angarsk Polymer Plant, which produces a wide range of petrochemical products and is a member of Rosneft's operating structure.

In 2015, construction, installation and commissioning of the MTBE unit with a capacity of 42,000 tons per year were completed, and the unit was put on a stable schedule.

The installation of large-capacity process equipment for the new diesel hydrotreating unit was completed. The construction of all process and administrative buildings, the installation of auxiliary systems: technological pipelines, electrical equipment was also completed.

The main investments in 2018 were directed to the implementation of a comprehensive modernization program, including the construction of sulphuric acid alkylation units, catalytic cracking gasoline hydrotreating unit and diesel fuel hydrotreating complex with associated facilities, as well as the implementation of projects to improve operational efficiency.
